I wasn’t quite prepared for the seven steps to Buddhist enlightenment, but I accidentally made it up rather quick. ?
Wat Phu Tok in Eastern Thailand offers a spectacular network of wooden ladders and wobbly walkways that lead through seven levels to the top of a solitary sandstone cliff close to the Laos border. All build by a dedicated forest monk who saw the work as a meditation in itself, and the creation of each level a further personal step towards Nirvana.
I had some lesser insights on the pilgrimage like climb up, plus joy abound and a liberated feeling at the top.
Read my personal account on my blog “Other Shoes” and you’ll know “there is always more than one way to the top!” ?
